Welcome to Rev. P.N. Lynch Assembly 1071!
As the Faithful Navigator for this fiscal year, I wanted to share just how humbled and honored I am to be of service to my fellow Sir Knights. I very much look forward to working with each of you in building a strong and vibrant Assembly, serving our parishes and communities and, along with each of you, being a visible sign of Christ’s light in an often-troubled world.
By way of background, the Assembly is named after Bishop Patrick Neeson Lynch, 3rd Bishop of the Diocese of Charleston, SC who served from 1858 – 1882. He was born in 1817 in Kilberidogue, Ireland and migrated to Cheraw, SC in 1819.
During his tenure the Civil War began in Charleston and the Cathedral of St. John and St Finbar was destroyed by fire. In 1864 Bishop Lynch was named by President Jefferson Davis of the Confederate States of America (CSA) to be its delegate to Holy See. As Rome did not recognize the CSA, Pope Pius IX received him as a Bishop.

Members of our Assembly come from 15 Councils located in the Charleston SC area. Our Sir Knights come primarily from Councils 704 (Calhoun Street), 6250 (Nativity), 8900 (St. Thomas the Apostle), 10334 (St Joseph’s), 12472 (Blessed Sacrament) and 17760 (Cathedral of St. John the Baptist).
As the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is located on Broad Street on the Charleston peninsula we provide Honor and Color guards for many Diocesan and Cathedral events as requested by Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, C.S. a member of our Assembly and Father Gregory Wilson, Rector of the Cathedral.
Assemblies throughout South Carolina are invited and welcome to participate in these Cathedral and Chancery events. These include ordinations of priests and deacons, the Chrism Mass, Holy Thursday Mass and Adoration, Corpus Christi, Christmas Mass and other events.
Other major color and honor guard events include the annual Police and Fire Fighters Mass and Award Ceremony, St. Patrick’s Day Mass and Parade, Holocaust Remembrance and the Annual Low Country Regatta (Special Olympics).
To provide better parking availability, both our business and officers’ meetings will be held at Blessed Sacrament located at: 5 St Teresa Dr, Charleston, SC 29407.
Business meetings occur on the 4th Tuesday in September, November, January, March and May in the meeting room directly across from the Church. Attire, except for officers, is business casual. Officers meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday in months when we do not have business meetings and then only when necessary. Both meetings begin at 7 PM.
Members are highly encouraged to purchase regalia so that they can participate in Church and Community events. Regalia can be purchased at:

Please note that we have a number of swords available to loan to any active member that purchases regalia. The Assembly is open to assisting active members who want regalia but are unable to afford it. Please contact me if you find yourself in this situation.
